RAF ehf. is an electrical contracting company that installs conventional electricity systems, while also designing and assembling automatic equipment and control devices for industrial use. In the past few years, the company has specialized in diverse electricity applications.
Automatic Control Systems
Our company has e.g. honed its collective skills on the design, assembly and installation of automatic control equipment and systems, primarily used in food production industries. Recently, RAF also launched the manufacture and assembly of its own automatic equipment.
Hydroelectric Power Installations
RAF has installed small hydroelectric power stations for farmers and other parties, mainly in rural communities. The experience thus gained is applied to design and development of regulators and water level control systems for such power stations. This equipment is particularly well adapted for use either in smaller, privately operated power stations or as a welcome boost to rural community power systems. It is worthy of note that RAF managed the installation of Sleitustaðir Power Project, which was the first farmer founded electricity system in the country to sell energy to the State Electric Power Works in Iceland
Ozone Equipment
In the past few years, RAF ehf. has embarked on developing ozone equipment for industrial use in cooperation with OZOMAX in Canada. This ozone equipment is especially useful for disinfection and elimination of odours in industrial operations of all kinds. The ozone equipment is non-polluting and therefore safe for use in all food production. Our company has now further developed this equipment to the point where it operates successfully in much more difficult conditions than it was initially designed to cope with. The ultimate results, obtained in the use of the equipment, are best described as an instant success.
Electricity Distortion Filter
Our company also conducts distortion and quality measurements in electricity systems and employs specialized devices for this purpose. These measurement operations led to the development of the RAF totally unique electricity distortion filter. This device is an impressive innovation for fishing vessels and land based industrial operations that are exposed to oscillations and distortions in their electricity systems. The electricity distortion filter has already been in use on board Icelandic trawlers for several years and the results far exceed initial expectations in terms of efficiency and fuel savings.
